The FirmGrip combines a standard PICC line-type catheter that is completely enclosed in a sterile silicon sleeve and PeelGuard™, a special silicone insertion unit. The sleeve creates a self-contained, sterile insertion field to form a 3D 360 maximum barrier.
This design has several advantages:

• Throughout the insertion procedure there is no possibility of touching or otherwise exposing the catheter.
• The system virtually eliminates blood backflow.
• The insertion procedure is safe, simple, can be done by a floor nurse and cost effective.
• The FirmGrip has IV dwell time for up to 29 days.
